why will all e-mails be saved in the database

hi

i've installed maia and mysql.

now i've seen that all the e-mails are saved at mysql (maia_mails). on this server there are a lot of e-mails. within a few days the database is getting bigger and bigger. now it has about 6gb. do i have to save them or can i delete them without loosing any brainpower of maia?

is it possible to deactivate these savings?

The brief answer to your question is 'no'--Maia needs to cache the mail so that users can rescue false positives and report false negatives, and to confirm the properly-classified items. This is how the Bayes database learns. If you want to reduce your storage requirements, reduce your expiry periods to a small number of days.
